Adirondack Spruce / Honduran Rosewood Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar



Specs       

The construction of this guitar is similar to a Martin HD-28. The main differences being:
*Adirondack spruce for the sound board material.
*Honduran rosewood for the back and sides as well as the headplate.
*Adirondack spruce braces
*Cocobolo rosewood binding
*Herringbone rosette
*Body depth is 3/16" less
*String spacing at the bridge is 2 1/4"
*Nut width is 1 23/32"
*Modifed V neck shape
*Two carbon fiber rods in the neck
This wonderful instrument was built by Jim MacIntosh at Jmac Guitars in Massachusetts. Jim has a great feel for wood and each individual piece is properly thicknessed and the braces are tuned to match.
The combination of Jim's techniques and the Honduran Rosewood give this guitar a musical tone like I have never heard. It's difficult to describe tone but I can say it's as clear as a good mahogany/adi guitar but with all the thickness and overtones of rosewood. The carbon fiber reinforced neck has a very solid feel to it.
